On the Loom

Knot- see in future posts how this weaving changes

Weather Whether? is the next BTG exhibtion at The Mill House Gallery, Angmering, West Sussex. On the loom at the moment I am busy weaving  ‘Knot’. It is a work which physically embodies the idea of change. The front and back surfaces are equally important and interchange. The whole piece will undulates and be contorted into the knotted form.  The work is a play on words ‘Whether or not’ and the means of display will be vintage knitting needles; the origin of knitting is ‘knotting’. I have added a metal thread to the warp so that I am able to bend the length when it is off the loom as well as using eccentric techniques of weaving. The  theme for the exhibition is very apt  due to the extremes of weather we have experienced so far this year. Open 18th – 27th April 2014. More information to follow….
